Ronald D Herman, Sr., age 75, of Plymouth, WI, was called
home to the Lord on July 5
th
, 2018, died peacefully surrounded by
family from complications of his battle with cancer.
Mr. Herman was originally from Machias, NY, one of 6
children. He was born October 8, 1942 to
August and Mamie (Burns) Herman. The
only child to put himself through college, Ron graduated from Alfred University
as a ceramic engineer, after marrying his best friend and soul mate Kathleen
Ann Riley, from Buffalo. The young
couple moved to Wisconsin where Ron started his career with the Kohler Company,
starting in the pottery division and then became superintendent of the enamel
shop. He later worked as a facilities
engineer, building state-of-the-art plants for Kohler near Monterey, Mexico. He was proud to have served 46 years, working
for 3 generations of the Kohler family.
Mr. Herman will be remembered as a true gentleman, who
instilled in his children the values of integrity, hard work, loyalty and
perseverance; and a love of the outdoors, country music, working with his hands
gardening and remodeling, and his beloved Wisconsin sports teams.
Ron is survived by: His wife of 54 years, Kate of Plymouth;
His son: Ron Jr. (Becky) of Medford, WI, and their children Elizabeth (Ryan)
Kinderman of Chicago, IL, and son Zed; David (Noel) Herman of Stevens Point, WI
and their children Nathan, Whitley and Lincoln; Kristin Herman of Panama City,
FL; Josh Nichols of Jacksonville, FL; and Riley Herman of Medford, WI.
Mr. Herman is also survived by his daughter Dawn (Scott)
Olson, of Watertown, SD and their daughter Allison; and by his youngest son
Dean (Margie) Herman of Phoenix, AZ and their two daughters Gwendolyn and
Alaina. Ron’s generous, kind heart,
contagious laugh and dry sense of humor will be missed by all those who know
him and love him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July
10, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of the
Church will officiate. Cremation will take place following the services.
Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Tuesday (July 10)
from 3:00 P.M. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in
Ron’s name.
