Donald
MacGregor Matheson, age 86, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on June 19,
2018.
He
was born on September 24, 1931 in Oconomowoc, WI, a son of the late Donald and
Louise Matheson.
He served for the Army before graduating from Lawrence
University where he enjoyed playing football for both. Donald had a long
career in education as a teacher, principal and later as the Superintendent of
Muskego-Norway School District. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Sporting
Clays Association Hall of Fame in 2012 for his many years of contribution and
support.
He
loved watching all his family in competitive sport activities as well as
embracing family and friends on his hunting adventures. Don enjoyed a good
cribbage game, traveling with his dog by his side, golf and cheering for the
Brewers, Badgers and yes the Packers. His engaging smile, creative wit and sage
advice will be treasured for future generations.
Donald is survived by his brother, Kenneth; four children,
Scott (Kathy), Eric (Mary), Janice, and Christopher (Lisa); his seven
grandchildren, Andrea (Ryan), Heather, Jena (Jesse), Susie (Josh), Greggory,
James, and Michael; his great grandchild, Tyler and many nieces and nephews.
He
is preceded in death by his parents, beloved sister
and brother-in-law, Marion and George Kerrihard.
A
celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 30
th
, from 2:00
P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth, WI, with sharing of
stories and memories starting at 3:00 P.M.
