Robert G.
“Bob” Abhold, 73, of Plymouth, WI passed away early Saturday morning (June 9,
2018) at his home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born
on October 15, 1944 in Fond du Lac, WI, a son of the late Robert L. and Coletta
(Reilly)
Abhold.
Bob attended
St. Michael Catholic Grade School in Dotyville and graduated from Campbellsport
High School
in 1963.
In 1964, he
joined the National Guard and served for 6 years.
On November
20, 1965 he married Helen Gessert in Dotyville. The couple resided in St. Cloud
for several
years where he worked as an auto mechanic for Feldner Chevrolet.
In 1969,
they moved to Plymouth where he worked for GTE (now Verizon) for 27 years
retiring in
1996.
During his
retirement, they spent their winters in Benson, AZ and summers at Lake
Puckwaway.
He fixed
clocks of all kinds and loved driving and walking the mountains. Bob had Magic Hands
and could
fix anything he laid his hands on.
Bob was a
faithful and loving husband to his wife Helen and loving father to his 4
children.
He is
survived by his wife of 52 years: Helen of Plymouth, his daughter: Julie Evans
of Sheboygan
Falls, Son:
Rob of Bayonne, New Jersey and his twin sons: Joe and John of Shelby Township
in
Michigan.
Three grandchildren: Paige and Arthur Abhold and Trevor Evans and by his very
Special
neighbor who he loved like a son: Dave Capelle of Plymouth.
Also
survived by many brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends.
Private
family graveside services will be held at the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev.
Rae Ann
Beebe,
pastor of Saron United Church of Christ in Johnsonville will officiate.
A memorial
fund is being established in Bob’s name.
