James “Jim” H. Barts, age 75, of Sheboygan went to be with
his Lord on May 8, 2018.
Jim was born, in Sheboygan, on November 3, 1942 to the late
Elmer and Ruth (Jaeger) Barts. He attended local schools and graduated from
Central High School. On June 19, 1971 Jim was united in marriage to Phyllis
Lilienthal at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He was employed at
Kohler Company as a circuit board operator and retired in 2008.
Jim enjoyed playing cards, dart ball, and bird watching. Jim
took much pride in his lawn. No matter the season, you could find Jim outside
making sure the snow was taken care of or the flowers were blooming. Family
meant everything to Jim. His grandchildren always put a smile on his face.
Jim is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two children, Jennifer
Rezac of Burnsville, MN and Scot (Tracy) Barts of Sheboygan; four sisters, Jean
Hiebing, Carol (Lonny) Bigler, Nancy Bender, Betty Butler; a brother Jerry
Barts; a half-brother Eugene (Sandra) Barts; a half-sister Gale (Donald) Bruce;
five grandchildren, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Milena, Connor, and Annaliese and a
sister-in-law Lucette Barts. Other family and friends further survive.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by four
brothers; Allen, Delmer, Leonard, and Larry Barts.
A funeral service for Jim will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday,
May 11, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave., Sheboygan, with
Pastor James Hartman officiating. The family will greet visitors on Friday, at
church, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Burial will take
place at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the
outstanding staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all the comfort
and support given to Jim in his last moments. They would also like to thank Dr.
Marshall Matthews and his staff for all they have done for Jim over the years.
Your compassion will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be
directed to Bethlehem Lutheran School.
