Marjorie
“Marge” J. Huibregtse, 85, of Port Washington and formerly of Oostburg died on
Friday, May 4, 2018 at Aurora Grafton Medical Center.
Marge was
born on June 20, 1932 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Martin and Wilhelmina
“Minnie” (Katte) Otten. Marge attended Sheboygan Christian School and graduated
from Sheboygan North High School in 1950. She married Harlan J. Huibregtse on
March 25, 1953 in Sheboygan. Marge spent many years as a private caregiver for
many individuals.
Marge was a
member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg where attended the
Eunice Society events, sang in the choir, and served as custodian for 24 years.
She volunteered at the Oostburg Christian School. Marge enjoyed her work caring
for other people, traveling, bowling, camping, and was known for the many
delicious pies she baked.
She is
survived by her husband of 65 years, Harlan, of Port Washington; one daughter,
Mary Beth Newhouse of Cedarburg; one son, David Huibregtse of Okauchee; five
grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nick) Ayoub, Katherine Newhouse, Luke Newhouse, Lydia
(fiancé Isaac) Newhouse, and Abraham Newhouse; one great granddaughter,
Josephine Ayoub; one brother, Roger (Audrey) Otten of Sheboygan; and two
sisters-in-law, Mona Otten of Fond du Lac and Mary Huibregtse of Ballwin, MO.
Marge was
preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Duane Newhouse; a sister,
Eunice (John) Hendrikse and a brother, Jim Otten.
A funeral to
celebrate Marge’s life will take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the
First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg with the Rev. Drew Zylstra officiating.
Private family burial will take place at the Union Cemetery in the Town of
Holland.
Family and
friends will gather at the church on Tuesday from 4 pm until the time of the
service at 6 pm.

A memorial
fund is being established in her memory for the Sheboygan County Christian
School and Oostburg Christian School.
