Robert J. “Bob” Wield, age 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed
away on Monday (April 30, 2018) at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, where he
was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 2, 1932 in Antigo, WI, son of the late
Joseph and Dorothy (Wissbroecker) Wield.
Bob attended Sheboygan Falls grade schools and graduated
from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1952.
Following high school, he served in the United States
Marines from 1952-1955 during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart for
his service.
On September 15, 1956, he married Deanna Carolan at St. Mary
Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls.
Bob worked at Bemis Manufacturing for 15 years and later for
Vollrath Company until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Vollrath,
Sheboygan VFW Post #9156, Sheboygan Falls American Legion Post #149, Deputy
Sherriff Association, NRA, and Sheboygan Falls Community Church.
Bob enjoyed being a leader of the Sheboygan Falls Boy Scouts
Troop #32, coaching and playing softball, fishing, hunting, and spending time
with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include: His loving wife: Deanna; Four children:
Donald Wield of New Lisbon, Dennis (Patti) Wield of Sheboygan, Kathy (Gene)
Althen of Cascade, and Kevin Wield of Sheboygan; Four grandchildren: Tanya
(Matt) Pinter, Greg Althen, Aaron Wield, and Ryan Althen; Five great
grandchildren: Elizabeth Sirvio, Ethan Althen, Carson Althen, Ryley Pinter, and
Olivia Althen; and Siblings: Ronald Wield, Carol Johnson, and Donna (Larry) Hametner.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by: His parents; Two brothers:
Kenneth and Joseph Wield; One sister: Mary (Tom) Jenquin; and One
sister-in-law: Elanore Wield.
Following Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday (May 6, 2018) at 12 Noon at Sheboygan
Falls Community Church, 633 Buffalo St, Sheboygan Falls, WI. Pastor Marlene Grandi will officiate.
Following the service there will be military rites and
sharing of memories at the Sheboygan VFW Hall Post #9156, 552 S. Evans St.,
Sheboygan, WI.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in
Bob’s name.
