Jane
S. Behrens, age 94, of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday (April 5, 2018) at
Waterford Assisted Living in Plymouth where she resided for the past four
years.
Jane was born on April 10,
1923 in Plymouth to Walter and Lilly (Weber) Fett.
On August 6, 1955, she
married Wilburt C. Behrens in St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth.
He preceded her in death
in 1983.
Jane was a lifelong
resident of Plymouth. She attended St. John Lutheran School and graduated
from Plymouth High
School in 1941. Upon graduation she worked for many years as a teller at
the Plymouth State Bank.
Later she worked in the business office of the Plymouth School District for 34
years.
Jane was an active member of St. John Lutheran
Church in Plymouth, regularly attending Sunday services until hearing problems
prevented her from doing so. She taught Eagle Nest Bible Class
and Sunday school and was Secretary of the
Sunday School for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women’s
Missionary League.
Jane was a talented piano player and put these
talents to use in serving her church. She played piano for Sunday School and for
Church services at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center.
Until injuries from a fall prevented her from
doing so, Jane enjoyed playing golf. She also bowled for many years.
In addition to Wilburt, Jane was preceded in
death by her parents and three siblings. Carol died at age seven in 1937; Helen
who died in 2007; and John died earlier this year. She is survived by sister-in-law
Neiva Fett, nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives who will all miss
her dearly.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday
(April 14, 2018) at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Pastor Nathan Meador will officiate. Inurnment
will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at
a later date.
Friends may call at the CHURCH from 10:00 A.M.
on Saturday until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to St.
John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
