Gail Grotenhuis, 88, of Cedar
Grove, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Cedar Grove Gardens where she
was a resident for only 4 days.
Gail was born on August 11, 1929,
in Kiel to Jerome and Emma (Meyer) Bunge. She was a 1947 graduate of Random
Lake High School. On August 28, 1948, Gail married Roger Grotenhuis in Silver
Creek. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1996. Gail was a dedicated mom and
stayed home to raise their son.
Gail is survived by her son,
Jerry (Laura) Grotenhuis; three grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) Grotenhuis, Jenny
(Adam) Longlais, and Jon (Jamie) Grotenhuis; eight great-grandchildren, Cael,
Logan, Reed, Lauren, Jake, Piper Gail, Roger, and Greta; sister, Gloria (Bob)
Hanson; and sister-in-law, LaVon Gartzke. She is further survived by nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her
husband, Roger, her parents; sister, Geraldine (Adrian) VanDixhorn;
parents-in-law, Wilmer and Ruth Holle; two brothers-in-law, Vic Gartzke, and
Eugene (Lois) Grotenhuis; and one nephew, Paul Hanson.
A memorial service to celebrate
Gail's life will be held on Tuesday, April
3, 2018, at 2pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg.
Relatives and friends may greet
the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 1 pm until the time of service
at 2 pm.
A memorial fund is being
established in her name.
Although she would feel we
“dasn't” say this, she was an incredible mother, extremely doting
grandmother and wonderful great-grandmother and she gave us enough love to
carry us through and then some.
