Gloria J.
“Bunny” Karstaedt, age 86 of Sheboygan passed away Saturday, February
24, 2018 at Morningside Health Center.
Born November 10, 1931
in Toledo, OH to Henry J. & Myrtle G. (Aleckson) Rake, Gloria attended
Stephen's College in Columbia, Missouri. On May 26, 1953 she was united in
marriage to Chester Karstaedt at First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and
they were married for 51 years. Gloria was a member of First United Lutheran Church
where she was active in the altar guild. She was also a member of the Sheboygan
Yacht Club and the Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299. She enjoyed china painting, her
beautiful home which she loved decorating and the holidays were lovely. Bunny
spent winters at Camelot by the Lake in Orlando and also loved to travel,
visiting Portugal, Russia and New York City where her sister lived.
Bunny is survived by
her children, Cynthia (Delbert) Kubichek, Bradley (Linda Fellenz) Karstaedt,
Christine (Jody Neuy) Karstaedt & Caroline (John) Deltgen, her
grandchildren, Benjamin (Heather Hoffman) DePagter, Elizabeth DePagter &
Nathan DePagter, a great grandson Everett Hoard, nieces Prudence (Richard)
Meyer, Susannah Rake & a nephew, John Goodman.
She was preceded in
death by her parents, her husband Chester and a sister Georgine L. Goodman.
A memorial service for
Bunny will be held at 2:00 PM March 16, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home &
Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave., Sheboygan. The Rev. Todd Smith of First
United Lutheran Church will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the
funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. A private inurnment will
be held at a later date.
A memorial fund has
been established in her name.
Bunny's family would
like to thank the nurses and staff of Morningside Health Center and Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation
