Zaida Mae (Fix) Thompson,
age 81, of Cedar Grove, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the
Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.
Zaida was born on August 20, 1936, in Andalusia, IL, to the late
Harold and Ruth (Burkett) Fix. Zaida was raised in Almond, WI, and attended
Almond Public School graduating in 1954.
On May 22, 1955, Zaida married Jesse Thompson at
Almond United Methodist Church.
On August 16, 1986, Zaida married Tehal Virk
Singh in Waukesha.
Zaida was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and was a founding
member at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo.
Zaida had a deep spiritual connection with God and a generous heart.
Over the years Zaida opened her home to many in need including: foster
children, wayward travelers, sick and dying friends, and everyone in between.
Zaida was active in mission work delivering: food, warmth, comfort,
and Gods word to Indian Reservations and the less fortunate. In 2005, Zaida
started “Aunt Zaida’s Circle” making wool quilts for those in need, enlisting
friends to help. The group has delivered hundreds of wool quilts to people from
New York to California.
Zaida enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and going to the sporting
events of her grandchildren and the Wilterdink children.
Zaida owned and operated an Antiques business
for over 40 years. She was also a self-published author.
Survivors include seven of her eight children: Burke (Linda) Thompson,
Jessica (Dave) Udovich, Jennifer Thompson, Veronica (Mark) Randall, Yolanda
(Alan) Staats, Chad (Angela) Thompson, and Ericka Thompson; 16 Grandchildren;
13 Great-grandchildren; One Aunt: Florence Fix. Three sisters: Jaclyn Lemke,
Velva (Bob) Brusse, Danielle Manock; Four Sisters-in-law: Nancy Thompson, Mary
Kay (Don) Sprague, Karen Thorson, and Laura (Ron) Welch. Zaida is also survived
by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Zaida was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Fix;
ex-husband, Jesse Thompson; one son, Brett Thompson; and one sister, Karen
Gottschall.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:00
A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo, WI. Pastor Denise
Kwiatkowski, will officiate. Burial will be at the Hingham Cemetery. Visitation
will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Service.

family, the staff at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon, and the Sharon S.
Richardson Hospice Center for all their support, care and compassion given
during her brief time of need.
