Neil R. Kirst, of the town of Sheboygan, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. He was 71 years old.
Neil was born August 2, 1946 in Sheboygan, the son of Roland and Clarissa (nee Heffernan) Kirst. He gradated from Sheboygan South High School. On June 13, 1970, he was united in marriage with Kathleen Krenke at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. For 41 years, Neil worked at Plastics Engineering Co., retiring in 2010.
A dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Neil served as a church elder and usher. He had served as a leader for the Cub Scouts, and enjoyed traveling with his family, being a member of the PT Cruiser Club with Kathy, listening to the police scanner and spending time on Facebook. For many years, he enjoyed CB radios and RC car racing. He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan, an oldies music buff and enjoyed watching classic tv, police shows, wrestling and westerns.
Neil is survived by his loving wife Kathy and their sons: Clark and Shawn (Elida), both of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his favorite grandson Evan Kirst, step-brother Jack (Penny) Soucheck of IL, sister-in-law Edna Mae Olson of MN, brothers-in-law Edwin Krenke of Sheboygan Falls and Keith (Anita) Krenke of Berlin, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed by his faithful dog Gunner. Neil is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave. in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8

St in Sheboygan, on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 4:00-7:00PM and again on Tuesday at the CHURCH from 10:00-11:00AM.He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
