Julia A.
Klunk, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St.
Nicholas Hospital. She was born
September 17, 1925 in the Town of Mosel to Sylvester and Erna (Augustine)
Leahy. Julia attended the Champion
School, a 2-roomed school house. On
January 26, 1952 she was united in marriage to Christ Klunk. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1973.
Julia worked
at R-Way Furniture, and then was a noon supervisor at Pigeon River Elementary
School. She loved bowling and playing Sheephead
with her family and friends. She
especially looked forward to her Sunday afternoons playing Sheephead with Deb
and Mike. She loved polka music and
dancing. Every year she traveled to Door
County with her sister and cousins, it was a trip she looked forward too. Julia also enjoyed birds and bird watching.
She is
survived by her children; Barb (Mark) Rhiel, Deb (Mike) Klover, and Dennis
(Megumi) Klunk, grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Dion and Gary Prahl,
great-grandchildren, Aiden Meerdink and Jeren Dion, sister Mary Herzog, and by
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
brother Jerome (Eunice) Leahy, brother-in-law Robert Herzog, nephew Jerry Leahy
and niece Cheryl Mitchell.
A funeral service
will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 12:00 NOON at Zimmer-Westview
Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan, with Fr.
Matthew Widder officiating. Burial will take
place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, February 19,
2018 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
