John E. “Jack” Slattery, age 84, of the Town of Osceola
(formerly of Whitefish Bay), passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the
Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI.
He was born in Milwaukee on October 25, 1933 to the late
John T. and Vera M. (Gariety) Slattery.
Jack graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee and
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette
University in 1968.
On August 20, 1960, he married Judith P. Lensmire at St.
Michael's Catholic Church in the Town of Mitchell.
Jack worked many years as a civil engineer for Milwaukee
County, retiring in 1996. While in Milwaukee he was a longtime member of St.
Monica Catholic Parish. Following his retirement he and Judy moved to the Town
of Osceola in 2000.
Growing up, Jack loved spending summers with his
grandparents in Parnell. He enjoyed collecting things, keeping up with family
history, cars, and toy trains. Most of all, he loved spending time with his
wife and three sons.
Survivors include: His wife: Judy; Three sons: John T.
(Kristine Kuesel) of Milwaukee, Daniel J. of Darien, WI, and Edward J. of
Parnell, WI; Two grandchildren: Laura E. and John T. “Jack”; Four cousins:
Doris (Tom) Simota, Mary Naylor, Jerry (Donna) Gariety, and Patricia Gariety;
and Three brothers-in-law: Roger (Marlene) Lensmire, Dale (Rosie) Lensmire, and
Tim Lensmire.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by: His parents; Cousin: Kathleen
Gariety; Cousin-in-law: Dan Naylor; Sisters-in-law: June Galloway, Charlene
Lensmire, and Judy Lensmire; and Brothers-in-law: Don Galloway, Matt Lensmire,
and Gary Lensmire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held on Saturday (February 10, 2018) at 12 Noon at St. Michael's Catholic
Church in the Town of Mitchell, WI. Fr. Dennis Van Beek will officiate. Burial
will be in the St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will take place at St. Michael's Catholic Church
on Saturday (Feb. 10) from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
