Wilbur
C. “Bill” Nolte, age 96, of Plymouth, WI, passed away Saturday (Jan. 27, 2018)
after a brief illness.
Bill
was born on September 8, 1921 in Plymouth, a son of the late Henry and Arline (Brinkman)
Nolte.
He
graduated from Waldo High School in 1939, and served in the United States Army
during World War II from 1942-1945.
On
September 4, 1948, he married Virginia M. Roltgen at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Plymouth, enjoying 69 years together. The couple has resided
in Plymouth all of their married life.
Bill
enjoyed working at Sargento Cheese Company for over 20 years retiring in 1989.
He
was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Bill was a
charter Member of the Church’s St. Vincent de Paul Society of which he was an
active member serving others for close to 50 years. He also belonged to Plymouth
VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612.
Bill
was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching the Plymouth Flames
baseball and his children and grandchildren’s softball games. Bill also enjoyed regular
Card
games with his many friends right up to his passing.
He
was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He
touched many lives and will be warmly remembered.
Survivors
include his loving wife of 69 years: Virginia of Plymouth; One daughter: Kay
(Guy) Miller of Sheboygan; Three sons: Bob (Susie) Nolte of Plymouth, Jay
(Debbie) Nolte of Elkhart Lake and Tom (Mary) Nolte of Whitefish Bay. Grandchildren:
Kelly (John) Moehn of Stockbridge, Josh (Kate) Miller of Sheboygan, Andrea
(Aaron) Rodenkirch of West Bend, Paul (Marcy) Nolte of Cottage Grove, MN, Nick
(Becky) Nolte of Cross Plains, Ryan (Ashley) Nolte of Grafton, Dr. Michael
Nolte of Chicago and Kevin Nolte of Chicago. Great Grandchildren: Maggie, Abby,
Gini and Charlie Moehn; Hannah, Hogan, Ryder and Emmaline Miller; Sam and Sophia
Nolte; Danica and Dalton Nolte; Grace and Peter Nolte and Amelia and Alivia
Rodenkirch. One brother: Jerry Nolte of Plymouth and one sister-in-law: Marcella
Roltgen of Plymouth.
Bill
is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
He
was preceded in death by one brother; James, One sister-in-law; Laura Nolte and
one brother-in-law: Ken Roltgen.
Memorial
Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (Jan 31, 2018) at
1:00
P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in
Plymouth. Rev. Philip Reifenberg, pastor of
the church will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery
in Plymouth.
Friends
may call at the CHURCH from 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday until the time of the Mass.
Military
rites will be conducted by the VFW World Cheese Center #5612 of Plymouth following
the Mass at church.
In
lieu of flowers, Bill and his family would ask that memorial donations be made
in his name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John the Baptist Parish.
