Peggy Ehlert, 63, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after her courageous battle with cancer.
Born January 8, 1955 in Sheboygan, Peggy was a daughter of the late Ernst and Janet Pytel. She attended Sheboygan South High School and graduated in 1973. She was married on November 17, 1973 to her beloved husband, Delano “Dale” Ehlert.
Peggy worked as a teachers assistant with the Sheboygan Area School District for 35 years before retiring in 2013. She truly enjoyed her job working with children. She was a long time member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She also enjoyed the time they spent camping at Devil's River Campground.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dale, and their two beautiful children, Brenda (Jerry) Carter of Green Bay and Trevor (Sarah) Ehlert of Sheboygan. Peggy and Dale were married for 44 years before she was called home to be with the Lord. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Logan Ehlert of Sheboygan and Kennedy Carter of Green Bay. They were the joys of her life. She had one sister, Patricia “Patty” Pytel of Milwaukee along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Peggy will surely be missed by all.
Funeral services for Peggy will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 13th & Lincoln Avenue. The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Light Mausoleum.
