LeRoy Tislau, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday,
January 17, 2018 with his family by his side, at Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. LeRoy was
born on May 24, 1934 in Highmore, SD to Ludvig and Barbara (Fischer)
Tislau. He graduated from Highmore High
School in Highmore, SD, and proudly served in the US Army from 1956 –
1958. On May 26, 1956 he was united in
marriage to the love of his life Lorena Rutschke.
LeRoy was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sheboygan,
serving as President, and trustee of the congregation when the church was built. He was very active and a member of the
Optimists, Farmers & Sportsmen Club, Town & Country Golf Club, and the
Sheboygan Yacht Club. He was an
architect with the Stubenrauch Associates, and he also served as
secretary/treasurer for the company, retiring in 1995.
LeRoy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the
last few months with his great-grandchildren on his lap. He also enjoyed traveling, hunting on his 40
acres “Bukscent”, fishing with the LimeTwist fishing team, and golfing.
LeRoy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorena, by his
children; Patrick Tislau, Jonathan (LuAnn) Tislau, and Rhea (John) Schwantes,
grandchildren; Vicki ( Matthew) Dempsey, Peter (Ashley) Schwantes, Amanda
(Chris) Gebert, Tony (Erica) Tislau, Andy (Bevin) Tislau, Ashley (James)
Brunmeier, and Alex (Carly) Tislau, great-grandchildren; Jayden, Faith, Crosby,
Oliver, Balin, Grace, Nolan, Joy, Reagan, Elliot, and Marek, sister, Elda Olson,
and brother-in-law, Wally (Fran) Rutschke, he is further survived by many
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Louis, Emil and
Leonard, and by his in-laws, John Rutschke, and Lloyd and Clara McGregor.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018
at 12:00 NOON at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1019 N. 7

St.
Sheboygan, with Pastor Brett Matz officiating.
Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the
family on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at
the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice, St. Mark Lutheran Church Food Pantry or to the
charity of your choice in LeRoy’s name.
