In 1956, Neil married his grade school and high school
sweetheart, Shirley (Walthers) Mueller, and they began their six-decade-plus
journey of love and happiness with much joy coming from their children, Tammy
and Michael, and their five grandchildren.
Neil enjoyed a successful 46-year career at Kohler Co. in
the hospitality and corporate purchasing departments and was instrumental in
the renovation of Kohler Co.’s The American Club in the 1980s – now a
five-star, five-diamond property and one of the most respected in the
country. During that time he also
attended Cornell University to advance his hospitality industry education.
Neil and Shirley spent much of their free time traveling
around the world including time with friends in Florida, Austria, Germany,
Switzerland, Jamaica, The Bahamas, and Greece. Their other passions included cooking and spending
time outdoors landscaping, gardening, and splitting wood.
Neil is survived by Shirley, his loving wife of 61 years,
his children Tammy Klaisner of Merton, Wisconsin, and husband Jeff, and Michael
Mueller of Port Washington, Wisconsin, and wife Laurie, as well as his
grandchildren Molly, Jacob, Abby, Mallory, and Tyler. He is also survived by his sister, LuEva

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arno, who also worked 45-plus
years at Kohler Co., and Lillian (Nelson).
Both Neil and Shirley have been active their entire lives at
Bethany Lutheran Church and are thankful to Pastor Steele for his unwavering
support and inspiration over the past several years. The family also wishes to thank the entire
staff at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice for their wonderful and
thoughtful care during Neil’s illness.
A private family service will be held at Bethany Lutheran
Church. In lieu of flowers, the family
wishes to have donations provided to Bethany Lutheran Church or The Sharon
Richardson Hospice in Neil’s name.
