grade school and graduated from Central High School in 1936. Prior to her
marriage, she was a seamstress at Lakeland Manufacturing Company. After her
family was established, she once again worked at Lakeland, retiring in 1981.
Donnie was a lifelong member of SS Cyril & Methodius Church (she was
currently the oldest member), K.S.K.J., and Slovenian American Union. Donnie
was an active wife and mother and had a great sense of humor throughout her
life. She was proud of her Slovenian heritage. Donnie enjoyed dancing,
swimming, bowling, occasional casino visits, playing cards, but especially
enjoyed her family. In her later years, her Persian cats were her personal
friends.

and Olga Hlade Slapnick, as well as several in-laws.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 822 New
Jersey Ave, Sheboygan, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the
church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Fr. Paul Fliss and Fr. Richard
Cerpich will officiate. Mom will be laid to rest next to our dad at Greendale
Cemetery, Sheboygan.
Our family would like to extend
our appreciation to the staff of Hometown Retirement Home for their excellent
care! Caretakers, Jill, Sue, Connie, Tina, Hannah, Christina, and Amanda
treated her as family, which our family greatly appreciated. We would also like
to thank the staff of St Nicholas Home Care and Hospice for their attentive
care of our mother in her last weeks on Earth, before she was met by Jesus, and
her beloved husband and family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial
fund has been established for our mother.
