TOWN OF LYNDON, WI (WHBL) - A Milwaukee man faces a number of identity theft charges for stealing and using a debit card.
23 year old Michael Laubenheimer is accused of taking and using a debit card left by a person at his Town of Lyndon residence while away on a trip this month. When the person returned May 24, he noticed the card was missing and discovered 15 charges totaling over $3,800 were made over the past 11 days. A sheriff’s investigation was able to connect Laubenheimer to using the card at the Plymouth Kwik Trip when the unlawful charges were made.
Laubenheimer did admit to taking the card and using it to buy truck parts, gas, and other goods. He now faces up to 90 years in prison if found guilty of all identity theft charges.
