Braves 5, Brewers 4

ATLANTA, GA (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers blew a three-run lead and lost at Atlanta Thursday night, 5-4.  The Braves scored three times during a long seventh inning to win it.  Ryan Doumit had the deciding hit with a two-run single.  There was also a seven-minute delay in that frame over a mixed-up pitching change.  Zach Duke ran in from the bullpen instead of the pitcher that Brewers' manager Ron Roenicke wanted - Will Smith.  One inning earlier, Milwaukee took a 4-1 lead on an R-B-I single from Khris Davis.  The Brewers could have scored more had Davis not been picked off at first.  B-J Upton homered in the bottom of that frame to reduce Milwaukee's lead to two, setting the stage for Atlanta's come-from-behind heroics.  Brandon Kintzler took the loss in relief.  He's 1-2.  Alex Wood threw a scoreless seventh for the win, to improve to 4-5.  Craig Kimbrel earned his 12th save. Jonathan Lucroy had a pair of R-B-I's and Jean Segura had three runs and scored twice for Milwaukee, which lost three of four against the Braves and dropped to 2-5 on their ten-game road trip.  Ryan Braun left in the fifth with tightness in his right side, close to where he injured an oblique muscle earlier.  Carlos Gomez sat out the game after his lower back spasms acted up again the previous night.  The banged-up Brewers open a weekend series in Miami tonight.  Right-hander Marco Estrada faces Marlins' righty Tom Koehler.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 5:35.
