FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - A pair of puppies badly injured when they were doused in bleach are ready to go to their new homes.

Renee Webb with the Fond du Lac Humane Society says the dogs, named Tina and Turner, have received the all-clear for adoption from a veterinarian. They will head to new homes this weekend, after dozens of people applied to adopt them.

The dogs suffered chemical burns and eye ulcers in February when an eight-year-old boy threw bleach on them. Turner also suffered lung damage.

Webb says he will be prone to lung infections in the future, but both dogs are looking happy and healthy after their time at the shelter.
