SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan’s unemployment rate rose during the first month of 2014. The Department of Workforce Development said the Sheboygan metro area had 100 fewer seasonally adjusted workers in January compared to December. This led to an unemployment rate jump to 6.7 percent in the city of Sheboygan, and to 5.6 percent in Sheboygan County.
No place in Wisconsin was immune to this jump as all counties and major metro areas saw an increase in their rates. However, last week the DWD reported the statewide unemployment rate dropped to 6.1.
