SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sam’s Club may soon be coming to the Sheboygan area and it would be located on the old Menard’s property in the town of Sheboygan. Sam’s Club has submitted its plan to the town, indicating it is in the process of purchasing the 23 acre site along I-43 for a retail membership warehouse club with an adjacent gas station. Sam’s Club is seeking a conditional use permit for the plan and a hearing on that request is set for the next town board meeting on March 25th. The plan is to demolish the current Menard’s Self Storage building and construct a new 136,000 square foot facility. It would employ 150 to 175 people. The plan, which was submitted to the township Monday, states that the new store “will provide Club members a brand new Club shopping experience with Sam’s latest store design."
