SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The State Senate will be taking up the governor’s tax cut plan when it convenes in Madison Tuesday. State Senator Joe Leibham of Sheboygan, on Sheboygan’s Morning News Monday, said he expects it to be approved. He says if approved as is, the average Wisconsin property tax payer will save $100 this year, while the average income earner will save around $600.
Leibham said the withholding tables have already been changed and wage-earners will see the additional money beginning next month. On average, this will amount to $60 a month, according to Leibham.
The tax cut and withholding changes are paid for by the projected billion dollar state budget surplus expected when the biannual budget ends in June of 2015.
