UNDATED (WSAU) -- Flooding along the Wisconsin-Minnesota border is affecting travel. The high water on the St. Croix River at Stillwater Minnesota and Houghton, Wisconsin has forced transportation officials to close the Wisconsin 64-Minnesota 36 lift bridge until further notice.
Travelers can either cross the St. Croix River on Interstate 94 at Hudson, or go north to Highway 243, connecting Osceola, Wisconsin and the Town of Franconia in Minnesota.
There are other low lying roads along the Wisconsin-Minnesota border region that are closed due to flooding. The most notable is a part of Interstate 35 in Burnsville, Minnesota near the Twin Cities where part of the northbound lane was closed so they could build a temporary levy on it.
