SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan County has purchased a new property to help the Building Services department deal with storage issues. Supervisors voted 23 to 2 Tuesday evening in favor of spending $155,000 for the property at 615a Center Avenue.
Department Director Jim TeBeest said the property will provide them and other departments around the Courthouse more space, given that they have taken up space in a Courthouse parking lot and Sheriff's Department garage to store trucks. It also will provide better safety for motorists and pedestrians in the area.
Some supervisors questioned how the transaction was handled, including why they will be paying off the property in equal payments over four years. TeBeest said the owner of the property wanted it this way for tax purposes.
