SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department is looking for whoever recently released an alligator in the Sheboygan area. That four-foot gator was spotted about 10:30 Sunday morning in the 2700 block of Indiana Avenue. Deputies then located the reptile in a ditch near the Sheboygan River behind the Car Quest store in the area of South Taylor and Indiana Avenue. Sheboygan Police assisted deputies in taping the gator’s snout and then placed it in a dog kennel. It was then turned over to DNR Warden Mike Clutter. Clutter said the alligator was taken to the Pine View Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center until a zoo or other permanent home can be found. Clutter said the gator would not have survived the winter had it not been found.
