FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials said 22 year old Colton O'Brien turned himself in Thursday a few hours after they made public they were looking for him due to being in a scuffle with a deputy last weekend.
Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says they were called to investigate a noise complaint in the Town of Ashford when a deputy spotted some activity behind a vehicle and three men took off running. During the pursuit, the deputy tried to use a stun gun on O’Brien, who struggled with the deputy. He hit the deputy in the face and body, then tried to remove the deputy’s handgun from a holster. One of the other men, a 19-year-old from Campbellsport, then got involved in the struggle and got the deputy’s taser. Although the Campbellsport man pointed the taser at the deputy he didn’t fire. Instead, he and O’Brien ran away.
The Campbellsport man was taken into custody Wednesday. Olig says he talked to O’Brien Wednesday, but he opted not to turn himself in at that time.
