SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A high speed police chase in Sheboygan County Wednesday night came to an end when the fleeing vehicle crashed, killing the driver. The Sheriff's Department said the incident began shortly after 7 o'clock when deputies received a report of an erratic driver who turned out to be wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. Sgt. Matt Spence said they attempted to stop the car on Foster Road in the town of Holland when the vehicle took off. The ensuing pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles per hour and ended when the driver lost control and slammed into a utility pole on Dekker Road east of Adell. The driver, a 49 year old Germantown man, was ejected and died of his injuries. Spence said the Sheriff's Department has requested the assistance of the State Patrol, which is continuing the investigation of the incident.
