CEDAR GROVE, WI (WHBL) - Cedar Grove-Belgium Middle School Principal Jeanne Courneene will be district superintendent next school year. The district board approved the hire Wednesday, finding their replacement for the retiring Steve Shaw.
Courneene said the new position fulfills a career goal, having been with the district as middle school principal the past 16 years. She is also excited to be leading a district that has seen recent changes with most of its administration positions, from new principals to new directors of pupil services, and have a chance to gel with them and help lead the district forward. Some of the issues she hopes to tackle include curriculum changes and improving district achievement gaps.
Courneene’s first day will be July 1.
The district also approved hiring High School Principal Josh Ketterhagen to a full year contract. He has filled the position the past few months following the resignation of Larry Theiss back in October.
