MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- Some propane customers are getting left out in the cold by their suppliers, even though they are under contract. That has the attention of consumer protection officials. Sandy Chalmers with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection says they’ve received some complaints about fuel distributors not honoring contracts. “We’re concerned about contracts not being honored. We expect that propane suppliers will honor their contracts, so if you do have these kinds of problems, let us know about it.”
Chalmers says the majority of the complaints are involving Customer’s Gas Service, LLC from Amberg, but that’s not the only distributor they’re hearing about. “We’re getting complaints from throughout the state. We’re hearing the most from people in Marinette and Oconto counties, but for any consumer who is having a contract issue dealing with delivery or refund for undelivered propane, file a complaint with us and we’ll follow up with it.”
Consumers that wish to file a complaint about undelivered fuel under contract or refunds that were not given for prepaid contracted fuel should contact the DATCP.
