SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan Police are warning area residents of a national phone scam that is making its way around, consisting of a false accusation they hope will get your money.
A subject is calling residents, advising them they have outstanding warrants for not reporting for jury duty. They are further advised that the warrants may be cleared if they obtain a Green Dot Card from CVS Pharmacy. The suspect directs individuals to load the card with money - $1000 appears to be the amount requested - and provide him with the routing number so that he may obtain the funds. This is a scam. If you receive such a phone call, do not follow through on the request.
