SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - State Senator Joe Leibham of Sheboygan said the most recent legislative session was a great one. During Sheboygan’s Morning News on WHBL Monday, Leibham put the successes in three categories. One is with tax reforms, as residents will see lower taxes and less withholdings funded by a state surplus created by legislative actions the past two years.
Leibham added the legislature also was able to provide good sustainable funding for government programming, and set aside money for emergency expenses that is at its highest level ever.
While the session is over, Leibham said he would not be against a special session this summer if Governor Walker calls for one to deal with the issue of Photo ID. As a main sponsor of the legislation that is currently under legal challenges, Leibham said he would continue to support it since it has majority support across the state.
