Cardinals 4, Brewers 2

ST. LOUIS, MO (WHBL) - Wily Peralta took a no-hitter into the sixth inning Tuesday night, but it fell apart as the Milwaukee Brewers lost at Saint Louis 4-2.  Matt Holliday belted a two-run homer with two out in the sixth inning to give the Cards their first hit.  Matt Carpenter and Mike Adams had R-B-I singles in the seventh-and-eighth frames to close out their scoring.  Logan Schafer produced Milwaukee's only offense with a pinch-hit two-run homer in the ninth.  Peralta went six-and-two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on two hits while striking out seven.  He took the loss, falling to 9-15.  Peralta has now lost five of his last six decisions.  Cardinals' rookie Shelby Miller pitched six-and-two-thirds scoreless innings for the win.  He improved to 13-9, and has given up just three earned runs in 25 innings against Milwaukee.  The Brewers are now a half-game out of last place in the National League Central, and their next loss will assure them of a losing season.  The Cardinals maintained their one-game lead over Pittsburgh in the Central Division.  The Brewers and Redbirds will play again tonight at Busch Stadium.  Right-hander Marco Estrada faces Saint Louis righty Lance Lynn.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:40.
