SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Wisconsin DNR will hold a public information meeting in Sheboygan next week regarding placing a second ozone monitor in the area. Currently there is a monitor along the lakeshore in the Kohler-Andre State Park. Sheboygan Mayor Mike Vandersteen said a second monitor farther away from the lakeshore might help Sheboygan shake its non-attainment designation by generating more accurate ozone readings. Funding for a second monitor for up to two years was approved in the latest state budget. The exact location will be along Highway 42 between County Road Y and Garton Road in the Town of Mosel. Next week’s meeting, being held October 31 at the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce at 2 p.m., will be a chance for the public to review this location and provide their input.
