BIPARTISAN BUDGET COMMITTEE-3 FROM WISCONSIN 10/17/13 LEE
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSAU) - With the federal government shutdown now over, Congress is preparing to talk about a budget deal. That deal will take a lot of work from 29 Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle in the House and Senate.
Wisconsin will be well represented. Congressman Paul Ryan is the Republican co-chairman of the committee. Both of Wisconsin’s U.S. Senators were appointed to the panel. Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republican Ron Johnson.
The committee will have to come up with a long-term budget that can pass both houses of Congress. Co-Chairman Ryan met with his Democratic counterpart over breakfast Thursday to start the discussions.
