LeMahieu announces first bills as part of state code review

MADISON, WI (WHBL) - Area Assemblyman Dan LeMahieu of Cascade announced Monday the first two ‘Right the Rules’ bills to simplify state regulations.

LeMahieu is a co-chair of the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules.  This body is currently going through all 1,768 chapters of the Administration Code to find ways to, in his words, “eliminate any confusion, unnecessary paperwork, project delays or extreme costs.”

The first two bills to come out of their review will focus on changing language in nearly a dozen chapters associated with the Department of Financial Institutions and 16 chapters associated with transportation regulations.

LeMahieu said more legislation will come in the future as the review committee has only gotten through 227 chapters.
