SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Applications are now being taken to help Sheboygan County households pay for the upcoming heating season. Kris Schmidt with the county’s Economic Support Division says money through the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program is available for those who fit the economic guideline. Eligibilty is based on gross income for the three months previous to when an application is filed. For a single person to qualify they must have income under $6,173. For a family of 2 the limit is $8,073. Last heating season saw around 3,700 county households apply. Sign up for the program continues through May 15. Appointments can be scheduled with the Economic Support Division by calling 459-3207.
