TOWN OF HOLLAND, WI (WHBL) - One portion of Sheboygan County will not allow rifle use during the upcoming gun deer season. Town of Holland Clerk Sharon Claerbaut said the town board voted to prohibit rifle use Tuesday evening, citing safety concerns from residents, farmers, and the overall population of the county.
In late September the DNR ended a rifle ban that covered all or portions of 18 counties in the state - primarily in more densely populated areas. Local government units are allowed to approve their own ban.
This year’s gun deer season begins November 23.
