Brewers Hand Greinke His First Loss Ever at Miller Park

MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers handed their former teammate Zack Greinke his first loss at Miller Park Tuesday night, as the Crew beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-2. The Brewers scored four runs in the fifth inning. Jean Segura opened the frame with a triple, and Ryan Braun drove him in with a single to tie the game at two. Carlos Gomez put Milwaukee in front for good with a bases-loaded two-run double, and that ended Greinke’s night.  He was tagged for five runs on nine hits in four-plus innings. It was his second start since he broke his left collarbone in a bench-clearing brawl in early April. Greinke suffered his first loss in Milwaukee, after going 15-0 there in one and a half seasons with the Crew. He’s now 2-1 on the year. Mike Fiers got the win, pitching one and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief. He’s 1-2. Jim Henderson got his ninth save as he struck out the side in the ninth while leaving two runners stranded. Jonathan Lucroy had three singles in four trips with an R-B-I, as Milwaukee is now just 4-15 in May. The Dodgers left 14 runners on base and went only 3 for 14 with runners in scoring position. Greinke tried to help his own cause with two hits and an R-B-I. The three-game series is tied at a game-apiece, and the Brewers will try to win it this afternoon. Right-hander Wily Peralta will face Dodgers’ left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins this morning at 11:35.
