SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - An elderly Sheboygan woman has been sentenced to prison for the death of her infant daughter 56 years ago. Sheboygan County Judge Angela Sutkiewicz Wednesday afternoon sentenced 76 year old Ruby Klokow to 10 years in the state prison. She’ll be eligible for parole in 2 years. Klokow was charged in 2010 after her 57 year old son; James, contacted police about his suspicions and the case was re-opened. The remains of the infant, who was six months old at the time of her death, were exhumed during the ensuing investigation and pathologists determined the head injuries could not have been suffered by a fall from a couch. Klokow later pleaded guilty to a charge of 2nd degree murder in a plea bargain that had recommended probation and 45 days in the county jail. However, Sutkiewicz, in handing down the prison term, said probation would diminish the seriousness of the crime. James Klokow addressed the court, saying that his mother had killed his sister and should get 20 years behind bars. Following the proceeding, he said he was satisfied with the sentence. He said, "My sister got justice today. I think if my sister would have found out how I got killed she would have done the same thing for me."
