MAPLEWOOD, MN (WSAU) - The family and friends of 30-year-old Kira Trevino gathered Thursday night, hoping for closure. A candlelight vigil was held at Keller Lake in Maplewood Minnesota, only a few minutes from the home where police believe she was murdered by her husband Jeffrey Trevino February 21st.
Over the past two weeks, some items of interest including a bag with bloody clothing and a blood stained pillow have been located near Keller Lake, and police are focusing their search efforts in that area.
Dozens of volunteers have helped search for Kira’s body, but without success.
Jeffrey Trevino is due to make a court appearance Friday. Kira’s family from the Wausau area plans to be there.
