The W.I.A.A. Board of Control has approved rule changes for Wisconsin High School Basketball. It has adopted the "mercy rule" for hoops which will require a running clock if a team has at least a 40 point lead at the end of the thid quarter. The clock will keep rolling even if a team gets within the 40 point threshhold. The association also says three person referee crews will be required in all post-season games. Division 1 teams will no longer be able to host a sectional semifinal or final game on it's home floor, using neutral sites instead. A change in hockey will allow teams to schedule 24 games, up from 20 plus two out of state contests.
