SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Jury selection begins this morning in the case of a Sheboygan youth charged in the murder of an elderly Sheboygan Falls woman last September. A pool of up to 75 people will be narrowed to 14 who will decide the fate of 14 year old Nathan Paape, whose trial begins on Monday in Sheboygan County Court before Judge Timothy Van Akkeren. Paape and 14 year old Antonio Barbeau are alleged to have bludgeoned 78 year old Barbara Olsen to death in her Sheboygan Falls home. Barbeau changed his insanity plea to one of no contest last week. He will be sentenced on August 12th. He is also expected to testify against Paape during the week-long trial.
