MADISON, WI (WHBL) - A bill authored by Assemblyman Mike Endsley of Sheboygan making it easier for counties to get reimbursement from prisoners has passed the Assembly and is on the way to the Senate. Endsley says the bill extends the time period from 12 months to 24 months during which the county can begin civil action to recover expenses incurred while housing a person in jail. Endsley says it will increase the likelihood that taxpayer dollars can be recovered.
