MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A 30-year-old Army Veteran from Milwaukee has filed a lawsuit against the FBI, claiming he was discriminated against because he is disabled.
Justin Slaby goes to court against the FBI on Monday.
Slaby served three combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, before losing his hand in his fourth tour. After learning to use a prosthesis, he earned his college degree and followed his dream to work for the FBI.
That dream ended abruptly when Slaby claims instructors removed him from the academy just a few weeks after joining.
Slaby’s attorney tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that this case will be talked about for years to come and, “is a litmus test for whether the laws that protect military veterans from employment discrimination have real teeth”.
