Brewers Host Marlins

MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers return from the All-Star break tonight with the hope of avoiding their second 100-loss season in team history.  At its current pace, the Crew stands to lose 97 games come October. They’re currently 38-56, with the fourth-worst record in Major League Baseball. Tonight, the Brewers will host the Miami Marlins – who have the Majors’ second-worst record at 35-58. Manager Ron Roenicke says the Brewers should be playing a lot better – even with all the injuries to key players like Ryan Braun, Aramis Ramirez, and Corey Hart. Braun is expected to return tonight, after missing last weekend’s Arizona series while on a bereavement leave. Milwaukee has also been plagued by inconsistent hitting, fielding, and starting pitching. Roenicke says his main goal for the second half is to find some consistency – at least to the point where he can have a set starting line-up and pitching rotation. Right-hander Kyle Lohse will start for Milwaukee tonight against Marlins’ right-hander Jacob Turner.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:35.
