APPLETON, Wis. (WSAU) - A rash of bedbug infestations continues to frustrate Appleton residents.
Outagamie County health officials say the blood-sucking bugs have been in the area since 2008. The county has head 19 complaints over the years, and infestations have been found in homes, motels and hotels. While individual infestations are not required to be reported, pest-control companies say their business has been up.
The bugs hide in bed sheets, mattresses, and even clothing and wait until dark to suck the blood of people nearby.
