ELKHART LAKE, WI (WHBL) - An 8 year old child staying with his grandparents was injured Thursday night when he was hit by falling power lines after a car careened into the yard and took down a nearby power pole.  The Sheriff’s Department said it happened around 8:30 at a home on County EH, northeast of Elkhart Lake.  Lt. Mark Rupnik said 8 year old Malachi Blanke, of Manitowoc, was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.  Rupnik said the 1966 Corvette was being driven east on EH by 64 year old John Krizensky, of the Elkhart Lake area, when he lost control and the car drove through the ditch, hitting a sign and a power pole, coming to rest against a parked vehicle.  A spokesperson for the hospital said this morning Blanke was in serious condition.  Authorities said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
