UNDATED (WHBL) - E-S-P-N says Milwaukee slugger Ryan Braun will be suspended after the All-Star break, along with up to 19 other big leaguers for their roles in getting performance-enhancing drugs from the Bio-Genesis clinic. The network said Braun was among 10 players who refused to answer questions to Major League investigators about the matter. Braun called it a “crazy situation” last night, and he said the vast majority of news stories about it were inaccurate. Braun refused to elaborate. He was interviewed on June 29th while the Brewers were in Pittsburgh – and he reportedly did not answer investigators’ questions as his representatives and a players’ union rep looked on. E-S-P-N said both Braun and Yankees’ infielder Alex Rodriguez face possible 100-game suspensions – 50 for taking P-E-D’s and 50 for not admitting it. Major League Baseball called the E-S-P-N report “premature.” Spokesman Pat Courtney said the matter is still being investigated, and no decisions have been made. Braun has repeatedly denied using performance-enhancing drugs. He said he used Bio-Genesis founder Tony Bosch only as a consultant for his successful appeal of his 50-game drug suspension from 2011 for taking synthetic testosterone.
